Welcome Message from the IEEE WCNC 2010 TPC Chairs

Welcome to IEEE WCNC 2010 and to the wonderful city of Sydney. Thanks to the great support of researchers in the global wireless communications and networking community, we received a large number of submissions - 1474 to be specific - among which 1313 were peer reviewed rigorously by at least 3 reviewers. The breakdowns of the papers to four tracks are as follows:

PHY MAC NET S&A
562 345 462 134

Most of the submitted papers were of very high quality. Due to space limitation, only 548 papers could be accepted, which corresponds to an impressive 37% acceptance rate. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the authors for their excellent work and enthusiastic support, and to 625 TPC members and over 1000 reviewers for accomplishing such a difficult task with high quality and in a timely manner. In particular, we would like to thank the TPC Vice Chairs: Hamid Jafarkhani, Iain Collings, Kevin Sowerby, Hsiao-Hwa Chen, Nei Kato, Nirwan Ansari, Tomohiko Taniguchi and Vasilis Friderikos for their dedication and hard work.
IEEE WCNC 2010 has been organized into 110 sessions and you will find 13 parallel sessions at any timeslot during the three days. To facilitate interactions between researchers, all the papers will be presented orally.  We trust that you will always have an interesting talk to attend all the time!
Australasia is not only a beautiful region but also a leading technology creator and adopter in wireless communications. We hope that foreign delegates will have a chance to mingle with local researchers and to visit some local research groups when you are here. We also hope that you will take the opportunity to enjoy Sydney.
